Leadership in the 21st Century (1 day)
Understanding what it means to work ‘globally’ and recognising the fundamentals of good leadership: vision, strategy, and influence; developing strategic thinking including the creation of personal and collective visions.

Cross Cultural Competence (1 day)
Recognising the impact of culture on business relationships and performance; identifying personal dominant cultural orientations and how to adapt to cultural differences to maximise communication and collaboration across borders.

Adaptive Leadership (1 day)
Executing the management role effectively; knowing yourself and your impact on others, and how to adapt. Taking responsibility for outcomes whoever makes the decision. Building trust and empowering groups by creating the conditions for success and pride.


Prioritising and Delegating (1 day)
Balancing your own technical work with that of the team to achieve optimal results; achieving productivity through prioritizing, setting objectives, delegating and following up.


Decision Making (1/2 day)
Making things happen; encouraging ideas and creativity from the team while taking responsibility for final decisions; distinguishing between taking responsibility and taking credit.


Communication and Motivation (1 day)
Recognising and managing differences in what drives people; communicating effectively and creating the conditions for success and pride.

Running Meetings (1 day)
Deciding when to conduct meetings; planning for meetings that are goal-oriented, efficient and results-driven; managing discussions to produce best thinking and outcomes; taking the impact of culture into account when setting up and running meetings.


Managing Conflict (1 day)
Recognizing conflict as an asset; utilizing different conflict management styles to produce positive outcomes; recognising and managing different cultural orientations to conflict.


Effective Presentations (1 day)
Delivering compelling and powerful presentations; identify ‘hot buttons’ and ‘key impact statements’; maximise the impact of different communication media; self-manage personal emotions and delivery style.


Negotiating and Influencing for Results (2 days)
Creating value and securing deals that others might overlook; adapting your personal influencing and negotiating style to be effective in a range of challenging environments; building sustainable trust with people whose expectations and values are different from your own.


Interviewing (1/2 day)
Being effective when participating in selection interviews; assessing a candidate’s technical skills, knowledge and experience in relation to the needs of the business.


Methods

Each of the Personal Effectiveness Skills Series workshops consists of a 1/2 day or 1 day classroom session, in certain cases with preparatory pre-work and in every case with a post-programme action planning assignment. The sessions are designed to generate highly practical, ‘apply-now’ outcomes. Each one is based on the following process: EAST.

  • E – Experience: experiential exercise(s) based on relevant business situation/event.
  • A – Analysis: examination of what happened and why? What worked, didn’t work? What would be a useful process to follow?
  • S – Skills: what skills and tools do we need to develop to support the process?
  • T – Trying Out: applying learning and creating plans for yourself and your team
